Dr. Jennifer Elemen is an award-winning education leader, writer and speaker who designs and facilitates professional learning, creating transformational change for equity, justice and joy. She is currently president of the California Council for the Social Studies (CCSS), leads Digitally Mediated Learning for the 21st Century California School Leadership Academy (21CSLA) State Center at UC Berkeley, is on the Center for Leadership, Equity and Research (CLEAR) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative Steering Committee, and is a Guided Language Acquisition Design (BeGLAD) certified agency trainer. She has served in roles from teacher to director, for grades P-12 and higher education at the classroom, school, district, county and state levels, including the California Department of Education's State Literacy Plan team and as Content, Literacy, Inquiry, and Citizenship (CLIC) Project regional lead. She cultivates critical literacy, leadership, community and civic engagement, learner voice and agency, culturally responsive education, deeper learning, reimagined futures, belonging and wellness.
